Foundation Stone and Campus Expansion:
The foundation stone of AIIMS Guwahati was laid by the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on May 26, 2017, marking the beginning of a transformative journey. The Institute initially operated from a temporary campus at Narakasur Hill-Top, Guwahati, starting its first academic session in January 2021. However, AIIMS Guwahati has since expanded and relocated to its main campus at Changsari, Kamrup (Rural) District, covering an extensive area of 189.2 acres. General Code of Conduct for hostel

1. AIIMS-Guwahati campus maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

2. All hostel occupants are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner that upholds the honor and respectability of the institution and the medical profession.

3. Secret activities or meetings are strictly prohibited within the hostel premises.

4. Prior written permission must be obtained from the Hostel Faculty in charge/Warden/College authorities for any meetings held in the hostel room or premises.

5. Consumption, storage, or supply of liquor, intoxicants, or drugs of abuse is strictly prohibited.

6. Engaging in any form of gambling is not allowed.

7. AIIMS Guwahati campus is a smoke-free zone, and smoking in any form is strictly prohibited.

8. The use or dissemination of pornography is strictly prohibited, and engaging in such activities may result in disciplinary action, including possible rustication from the institute.

9. Firing crackers inside the hostel premises or buildings is strictly prohibited. However, with prior permission from the Hostel Faculty in charge/Warden and in compliance with the law, celebrations involving firecrackers can take place in designated open areas on the campus. The Hostel Committee and college authorities are not responsible for any violations of the law in this regard.

10. Hostel occupants should avoid making excessive noise or causing disturbances that may disrupt others, including the use of audio devices, TV, or other media devices.

11. Firearms, lethal weapons, poison, or dangerous chemicals are strictly prohibited inside the hostel rooms.

12. Hostel students must not interfere with the duties of Hostel Committee Members, wardens, or security personnel.

13. Misbehavior towards Hostel Committee members, security personnel, or hostel staff is strictly prohibited and will result in strict disciplinary action.

14. Residents should not engage in arguments or interfere with the duties of hostel employees. Any complaints or suggestions should be directed to the respective warden.

15. Students are prohibited from posting any institute-related videos on social media without proper permission.



16. Students’ Movement Timings, Attendance, and Rules for Leaving Headquarters

17. Students must record their movements by making an entry in the Student Movement Register when leaving the campus, including the purpose, time of exit, and time of entry.

18. Entry timings for boys’ hostel are as follows:



Entry on the campus is allowed until 7:45 pm, and students are not permitted to leave after that. Non-compliance will result in strict action.

Attendance will be taken at 8:00 pm every day, and failure to attend the head count five times within a month will lead to disciplinary actions.

The main gate of the boys’ hostel will close at 10:15 pm, so students must enter before 10:00 pm.

Students are not allowed to leave the hostel between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am.

In exceptional circumstances where a student cannot return to the hostel before the reporting time, they must obtain prior permission from the faculty in charge/wardens, with proper justification. A gate pass will be issued in such cases, and if an overnight stay is required, the student must provide an application with the signatures of parents/local guardians.

19. Entry timings for girls’ hostel:

Female students must carry their identity cards and show them upon entering the campus.

Entry on the campus is allowed until 7:45 pm, and students are not permitted to leave after that. Non-compliance will result in strict action.

20. Attendance will be taken twice in the girls’ hostel.
