Established in 1994, the Regional Science Museum in Khanapara, Guwahati, stands as a beacon of educational enlightenment. As one of the leading educational institutes in the state, its mission is to promote scientific knowledge and understanding among visitors. Through interactive exhibits and engaging activities, the museum aims to educate individuals about prehistoric eras, as well as contemporary advancements in science and technology.

This is the science museum of Assam , by visiting there people realise the meaning of the sentence “people learn more by visiting new place . Most of the people after visiting this science museum of Guwahati(Assam),They smile and say Great Place! Lot of things to learn here . The exhibits were very interesting place . One can see exactly how the tides happen or feel the earthquake inside the museum. The observatory inside the museum is very nice,the great place is divided into many blocks ,on a systematic way is designed to observed the whole place. There was a portable inflatable observatory . If any one happen to like scientist then visit is a must.

A nice place to visit

It’s great place to visit with family and specially with kids. Kid’s are loves a lot this kind of places, Almost ,all the science are explained with many experiment, So that a small child can understand ,Where he/she came and what are this magic . Many thinks to do. Generates lots of knowledge. Observation is made for people with every age. Some funny portion for mid age peoples. And a park for everyone, where children ,old people also can enjoy . A must go place if you are having kid’s .This is a nice place to hangout with kids. The kid’s will definitely enjoy this place & also learn through playfully & fun concept of learning. the item displayed are interactive which give more interest to kid’s .

Science museum is the right place to take children who have interest in Science and with dream of studying by taking science. Many displays here make the concept of many aspects of Science clear and after a visit children generate interest in Science

The Science museum in guwahati is simply awesome. A house is there with many aquarium of the fish that are found in ocean.

When you inter the museum at first you will see a Mig21 Aircraft is standing .Next you will see a glob is rotating and water is flashing over it. A big water tap is made .interesting ! water is falling without pipline

Its a museum devoted primarily to science. Besides which, it boasts of some aquarium consisting of exotic fish tanks, butterfly park, a real Mig21 Aircraft among others. The centre also organises 10 minute 3D show base on sciences throughout the day, hence plan the visit accordingly.

The entry ticket is Rs. 20 per (It may changed) adult and its free entry for children upto 3 years.

The regional science museum consists of :

1. The main building of Guwahati science museum with 2 floors consisting of different sections, mirrors, chemistry, physics, science concepts, biology mirror maze, virtual reality, kids play area with swings, blocks, periscope etc., almost all of them are interactive exhibits. There is also a cafeteria where you can get different types of snacks, tea, softdrinks, lunch. Price is reasonable.

2. A big park/garden on the outside with sitting area, ducks, swings, trees, fountain, many statues ,metal installations(like seesaw) explaining scientific concepts again. There is also a pay toilet in one corner of the park, well maintained.

3. Through the park you can enter towards the Beautiful butterfly garden it is a closed room with the glass windows.

4. After this comes the prehistoric park with a display of statues of prehistoric animals, like dinosaurs ,Rhinos , prehistoric birds etc.

5. When you walk down a bridge ,there is another place where there is a display showing ecological food chain giant statues of mushroom ,river fishes, snails ,cock roach, frogs etc. can be seen .

This is a really cool and knowledgeable place not only for the kids but for parents also.
